Legacy Supper 2023
After being captured by the Spanish in 1655, Jamaica became a British colony in 1707. British controlled Jamaica for 255 years. On August 6, 1962, Jamaica was granted its independence relieving the Queen of England as the head of state. During its reign, Jamaica became one of the world's busiest slave markets. Dominating in agriculture, it became Britain's most valuable agricultural ground, sourcing most of the world's sugar, coffee, and cocoa. After 367 years since its capture, and 60 years since its independence Jamaica has remained one of the world's most magical places. Inspirational writers, artists, heroes, and musicians have birthed here spreading their voices and ability across continents. The palatable flavors in our recipes and ingredients have not failed to wow any community.
